Passers-by escape as Devan Devdi Gate wall collapses in Hyderabad

A portion of the parapet wall of the Devan Devdi Gate collapsed following heavy rain in Hyderabad on Tuesday evening. The debris fell on shop sheds near Chatta Bazaar Road, while passers-by escaped unharmed. Authorities cleared the debris and temporarily closed the road.

Hyderabad: Passers-by had a miraculous escape on the Chatta Bazaar Road on Tuesday after a portion of the parapet wall of the Devan Devdi Gate collapsed following heavy rains.

The incident occurred around 6.30 pm after heavy rain lashed the city. A portion of the wall cracked, caved in and fell on the sheds of two shops located near the Devan Devdi Gate.


On receiving information, local GHMC officials and police personnel reached the spot and removed the debris. The road was temporarily closed to public movement as a precautionary measure.
