Patient critically injured after fall from hospital building in Adilabad

Adilabad: An in-patient tried to commit suicide by jumping off the terrace of Rajiv Gandhi Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS)-Adilabad here on Saturday. His condition is said to be critical. This is the third such incident to occur at the institution in the recent past.
Adilabad II town police said the patient was identified as Kamble Madhav, a native of Ramnaik Thanda in Jainoor mandal of Kumram Bheem Asifabad district.
Madhav, who received serious injuries, was rushed to a hospital in Hyderabad. He was suffering from a liver-related ailment, and was admitted to the medical college two days ago.
On receiving information about the incident, police rushed to the spot and brought down the patient from one of the floors. They are trying to ascertai whether he tried to kill himself or he accidentally fell down. He was earlier undergoing treatment at a government hospital in Utnoor.
On December 21 last, Ganganna (40), an alcoholic who was admitted to RIMS, died by suicide by jumping off the building. He was a native of a native of Bheemsari village in Adilabad Rural mandal. Another person also made a similar attempt at the institution in 2020.
