Mancherial/Kumram Bheem Asifabad: Vehicles carrying Covid positive patients from Maharashtra are being stopped at borders in Mancherial district. They are allowed to enter the State only if they confirm the availability of beds in hospitals they would like to visit.
Mancherial DCP Uday Kumar said vehicles ferrying the patients were being allowed when attendants confirm that beds were available. He stated that a negligible percentage of vehicles were using Sironcha route to reach Telangana.
Meanwhile, policemen are reportedly preventing the entry of vehicles at Kumram Bheem Asifabad district and Maharashtra borders. The policemen who are posted at the checkpost are said to be sending the patients back, citing unavailability of beds in hospitals in Telangana.
On the other hand, it is learned that hospitals in Mancherial district centre are expressing disinterest to treat the patients belonging to Maharashtra. Nursing homes in the district are advised to do so for providing treatment to the infected from the district. They were flooded with the neighbouring State’s patients till last week of April, resulting in the spread of the virus.
