Hyderabad: Former Kodangal MLA, Patnam Narender Reddy, who was arrested on Wednesday in connection with the Lagacharla incident, has on Thursday denied to have made any confessional statement before the police attributing his involvement in the case to the directions of prominent BRS leaders such as KT Rama Rao and others.

In an affidavit submitted to the Judicial Magistrate, Kodangal, he called it a ‘fake allegation’ and a story made up by the police. Denying the allegations levelled by the police in the remand report, he said it was motivated at the behest of his political adversaries and opponents. He requested the court to consider the facts furnished in the affidavit, by taking the same on record and passing appropriate orders in the interest of justice.

He stated that he had learnt through his wife on Thursday that the police created a fake story of the confessional statement and alleged that it was made by him. He stated that while moving in the KBR park in Hyderabad at about 7 am, a few police persons came in plainclothes and took him into custody. “Later around 9.30 am to 10 am we arrived at DTC, where the police detained me”. Nobody had talked to him either, he said.

“I was taken to the government hospital at Parigi and after a medical check up, the police took my his signatures on some papers and thereafter produced me before the court at 4.30 pm,” he said.
