Hyderabad: Under Pattana Pragathi programme, the Hyderabad Metropolitan Water Supply and Sewerage Board (HMWSSB) is taking up repair works of all the manholes in its jurisdiction.
Municipal Administration and Urban Development (MAUD) Minister KT Rama Rao on July 2 instructed water board officials to take up safety measures pertaining to all the manholes falling under its jurisdiction, following which officials held a review meeting here on Saturday.
HMWSSB Managing Director Dana Kishore asked the officials to repair all the manholes in two lane and four lane roads to match the road height. “We have already identified 9,835 manholes along 300 km of two lane and four lane roads. They will be repaired to match the road height and Rs 12 core has been sanctioned for the works,” he said.
Water board officials were asked to take safety precautions while repairing the manholes and complete the works by July 10. As a part of Pattana Pragathi programme, water board officials were also instructed to attend the grievances reported by elected representatives and people on war footing basis and dispose of the waste accumulated while repairing immediately.
