Hyderabad: The different kinds of write-ups seen behind auto rickshaws are surely a good source of entertainment for travellers on a mundane journey, on the roads chock-a-block with traffic.
Now, one such auto rickshaw from Kerala which carried renowned author Paulo Coelho’s name is going viral. Spotted by the author himself, Coelho posted about the auto rickshaw on his Twitter account with a note of gratitude.
The auto had Paulo Coelho’s name written in English and his best-selling novel ‘The Alchemist’ was written in Malayalam. The Brazilian shared a photo of the auto that was on a Kochi road and wrote: “Kerala, India (thank you very much for the photo)”.
The tweet soon went viral and racked up over 2,24,000 likes and 2000 retweets. Netizens also wondered who the owner of the auto rickshaw is and if he is an ardent fan of the renowned author.
Kerala’s local news website introduced the owner of the auto-rickshaw as KA Pradeep from Ernakulam. The website said that Pradeep had completely missed out on Coelho’s tweet but when he saw it after being informed by his friends, he was overcome with joy.
“It was a huge surprise. I am excited to know that my beloved writer tweeted my auto-rickshaw,” Pradeep told ‘Onmanorama.com’.
According to the news outlet, Pradeep became a fan of Paulo Coelho’s works after he read the Malayalam translation of ‘The Alchemist’ about 10 years ago. “I was fascinated by his storytelling method. Since then, I used to grab all his books available in Malayalam. I had taken a break from my work to complete reading the books in one go. I would say Coelho is a person with a magical pen,” said Pradeep, who has read around 10 books written by the author.
