Hyderabad: The KPHB police seized PDS rice being smuggled from the city to Karnataka and arrested two persons. A lorry was also seized.

Acting on a tip off, a police team stopped a lorry at KPHB road and found around 18 quintals of rice in the vehicle on Saturday morning. The driver Baba Patel (28) and cleaner Ahmed Miya (33) were arrested. “The PDS rice was being smuggled to Karnataka from the city where it was to be sold at a higher price,” said KPHB police. A case has been registered.
