Set in the post-WWI England, this series is loosely based on a real life gang of the same name and is centred around the fictitious character Thomas aka Tommy, who is a Godfather-esque character.
What makes this series a perfect weekend watch is that each of the five seasons has only six episodes and can be binged over one lazy Saturday. This series is also a lesson of sorts in history and politics as it has elements related to and allusions to several historical figures, groups and events including Winston Churchill, Irish Republican Army, the Wall Street Crash of 1929, the socio-economic conditions of post-war UK, Communism, anti-Communism, Fascism and much more.
