Peddapalli: 311 procurement centers to be set up to procure 4.6 lakh metric tonnes paddy

Peddapalli: An estimated 4.6 lakh metric tonnes of paddy is expected to arrive at the paddy purchasing centers in 2024-25 Kharif season.
Officials have decided to set up 311 procurement centers to purchase their entire paddy. Collector Koya Sree Harsha conducted a preparatory meeting for paddy procurement with officials at the collectorate office here on Friday.
Speaking on the occasion, the collector instructed officials to be ready with a perfect plan to procure the entire paddy. He also instructed authorities to prepare mandal wise statistics about crop to be arrived at centers in a particular month.
It was fixed to provide Rs 2320 minimum support price for Grade-A variety and Rs 2300 MSP to normal variety.
Besides required gunny bags, moisture machines, paddy cleaners, weighing machines, tarpaulins and other basic facilities should be made available so as not to give any inconvenience to farmers, Collector instructed.
