Peddapalli: Kamanpur police, who toured several areas on cycles to educate people about coronavirus during the lockdown, have come up with an innovative idea to check the spread of the virus under second wave.
Besides educating people about Covid norms through the public address system as well as arranging flexies, cases have also been registered against the people who were found without face masks.
A total of 11 persons were booked under Disaster Management Act 2020 and produced in the court on Tuesday.
In the wake of the second wave, the government has decided to take stringent measures to check the spread of the virus and issued GO to take action against norms violators under Disaster Management Act 2020. Kamanpur police are strictly implementing the government orders and educating people about the Act through a public address system.
Engaging an autorikshaw fixed with a public address system, police were asking people to follow Covid norms such as wearing face masks and maintaining social distance besides warning them of action if anybody violates norms.
Campaigning throughout the day, the police personnel were taking up the drive in the evenings on the line of vehicle checking and registering cases against people found without masks. Flexis were put up at different places.
Speaking to Telangana Today, SI Shyam Patel said they were educating the people throughout the day through a public address system and registering cases.
