Peddapalli: Ten year imprisonment for attempt to rape class 5 student
A Peddapalli district court sentenced a man, Shaik Sarvar, to ten years in prison and fined him Rs.5,000 for attempting to rape a Class 5 student in 2019 at a school in Godavarikhani. He was convicted under the POCSO Act

Peddapalli: District judge K Suneetha has sentenced a person Shaik Sarvar to ten years of imprisonment for attempting to sexually assault a class five student. The sentence is in addition to a penalty of Rs 5000.
According to police, the convicted person was working as sweeper in Gandhi Park school of Godavarikhani town and made an attempt to rape a fifth class student in school premises in 2019.
While the girl was studying, he entered into the classroom and tried to rape her after closing the door. When she tried to escape, he thrashed her and left the classroom by warning her not to disclose the matter to anybody.
After reaching the home, she informed the matter to parents, who lodged a complaint with Godavarikhani Town-I police. Based on the complaint lodged by the victim’s father, police arrested the case under POCSO Act and produced the accused in the court.
