Peddapalli: A 35-year-old woman and her two-year-old daughter died when the former threw her two children and self in front of a moving train at Ramagundam railway station on Sunday.

Jingeti Aruna took her two children, son Sathvik (5) and Sathvika (2), and jumped in front of Balwanthapur express from Secunderabad. While Aruna and Sathvika died, Sathvik suffered serious injuries.

Aruna, waiting on the platform like any normal passenger, suddenly jumped in front of the train along with her children when the train entered the platform.

While Aruna died on the spot, Sathvik and Sathvika suffered serious injuries. Railway police shifted the children to Godavarikhani government hospital where Sathvika died while undergoing treatment.

Sathvik has been shifted to Karimnagar hospital for better treatment.

Though the exact reason for Aruna’s suicide is not yet known, police suspect that family disputes may have forced her to take the extreme step. Aruna married Praveen six year ago, and the family was staying in Eight Incline Colony, Godavarikhani.

Railway police registered a case and began investigation.
