Hyderabad: In a sharp counterattack, senior BRS leaders lashed out at Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy for his disparaging remarks against BRS president and former Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao. They termed his remarks as petty, immature and politically desperate, stating that the people, and not Revanth Reddy, would judge the performance of the BRS chief.

Former Minister and senior MLA Vemula Prashanth Reddy charged Revanth Reddy with lacking both stature and credibility to criticise the former Chief Minister. “Chandrashekhar Rao’s legacy will be etched in golden letters in Telangana’s history, while Revanth Reddy will be remembered for his role in the cash-for-vote scandal and as a failed Chief Minister,” he said, warning that Revanth Reddy’s downfall would begin from his own turf, Kodangal.

Senior BRS leader S Niranjan Reddy said the BRS supremo made Telangana a model State even while ruling from his farmhouse. “Revanth Reddy, who fled to Malkajgiri after losing Kodangal and then lost his sitting seat to opponents, has no moral ground to criticise Chandrashekhar Rao. He is making tall claims without implementing a single promise. People are questioning his failures, but he is evading answers by targeting the opposition,” he said.

BRS MLC Dasoju Sravan condemned the Chief Minister’s conduct at the SSC board results event, calling it irresponsible and distasteful.

“Instead of motivating students, he used the platform to vent his frustration against the former Chief Minister. His anger appears to have stemmed out from the frustration of being sidelined by Rahul Gandhi,” he added.

He said the former Chief Minister never spoke ill of Revanth Reddy personally, despite the latter’s witchhunting. He questioned why the Chief Minister was evaluating Chandrashekhar Rao’s opposition role, while he himself claimed that his performance would be visible in the last six months of his term. He stated that people would pass their judgment at the appropriate time.
