Hyderabad: Social Welfare Minister Koppula Eshwar on Sunday said the people will teach a fitting lesson to State BJP president Bandi Sanjay Kumar if he continues to make baseless remarks against the ruling party.
Responding to Sanjay’s comments after visiting the site where construction of 125-feet tall Dr BR Ambedkar statue was progressing at a brisk pace, the Minister, interacting with media persons, said Sanjay has turned a blind eye to the ongoing construction works.
“We will complete the construction works at the earliest and implement Dalit Bandhu scheme even if the BJP hatches a conspiracy to stall them,” he said, adding that over 40 per cent of the construction works were already completed.
The Minister said the State government took up construction of a new Secretariat complex only for administrative convenience and Sanjay should not forget that the Central government was also constructing a new Parliament building at a cost of over Rs.20,000 crore for administrative convenience.
Stating that the was least bothered about the welfare of downtrodden and minorities, Eashwar accused the saffron party of resorting to attacks on SCs and STs in northern States. A video on slogans raised by the BJP leaders against the SCs and STs in Uttar Pradesh was shown to media persons.
TRS MLA Ch Kranthi Kiran said Sanjay has no right to visit the sacred place where the towering statue of Ambedkar would be installed soon. “If the BJP is committed to the welfare of Dalits, then the Centre must implement Dalit Bandhu scheme across the country,” he added. TRS MP B Venkatesh Netha also spoke.
