If there’s one kind of colour trend we love and adore and want to wear all year long, it has got to be pastels. Pastels are fun to wear throughout the year, but are often avoided by most, probably because you never know when the right season to wear them is. We have curated a couple of strategies for you to pull off pastels with confidence all year long.
Patterned & multi-coloured pairs
Pastels stand out for their sophisticated hues and effortlessly chic appeal. They make for great fashion statements when paired with a multi-coloured piece or a patterned piece. Opt for patterned blazers or graphic t-shirts with pastel skirts or trousers. Our favourites are lavender bottoms with rainbow patterned or multi-coloured plaid blazers.
Pastels with dark neutrals
You may seem iffy about pastels during winter and fall. This is where dark neutrals come into the picture. Layer your pastels on top of darker hues or vice-versa. That’s two fashion hacks in one. Pair shades like lilac, baby blue, light yellow and flat greens with dark neutrals like black, navy blue or animal prints.
Pastels neons & muted tones
The monochromatic look has grown in popularity in recent times and a lot more people have been combining pastel neon-toned outfits with muted colours. A few great combinations can be pop pinks and corals with maroons and burgundies or mint green with forest green and lemon yellow with mustard yellow outfits. This looks fabulous and can be recreated with fewer obvious combinations too.
Modern silhouettes in pastels
By modern silhouettes we mean well-fitting parallel pants or pleated skirts with fitted blouson tops and shirts. A head-to-toe pastel outfit will look very chic. You can also pair wide-legged pants with crop tops and a structured blazer or a millennial pink puffer.
Structured pieces
Pastels are soft colours that remind us of our childhood and must be worn when we are looking for comfort and familiarity. Pastels pair we’ll with blazers, jackets, button ups and trousers. If you’re looking to up your power dressing game, pastels should be your go-to option.
