Hyderabad: The Hyderabad police denied permission for a public meeting ‘Ethad-e-Millat’ to be organized by Tahreek Muslim Shabban organization on Sunday evening at Yakutpura.
Mohd Mushtaq Malik, president of Tahreek Muslim Shabban had planned a public meeting at Yakutpura Bada Bazaar to discuss issues pertaining to the happenings in the country.
The police who rejected the application and denied permission cited that Mohd Mushtaq Malik is known to flout permission guidelines and has several criminal cases booked against him for violating the guidelines. Also, the number of people expected to participate in the meeting was not provided nor the names of the guest speakers furnished to for background check. Moreover, the police pointed out that it was a crowded area and the public gathering would affect traffic flow.
Police were deployed in large number at Yakutpura Bada Bazaar as a precautionary measure and senior officials were camping in the area.
