Hyderabad: Adequate stocks of petrol and diesel were available in all the 185 petrol outlets in Hyderabad district, said the civil supply authorities on Thursday.
District Civil Supply Officer K Srinivas told ‘Telangana Today’ that there was no need to worry about fuel shortage in the city and there were adequate supplies available at present. The oil companies supplying from Charlapally were maintaining adequate fuel stock, which could last for another month.
The petrol and diesel sales in the city surged amid consumer panic, according to a civil supply department official. Hyderabad-based petrol outlet management supplied 1,627 kilo litres or 16,27,000 litres of petrol and another 722 kilo litres or 7,22,000 litres of diesel over the past couple of days.
A few petrol outlets shut their business either because they were unable to handle the mad scramble of the consumers, or they had not paid the amount to the oil companies to get fuel. The official said the oil companies were ready to supply fuel, provided the outlets managements pay the amount as per their requirement.
Meanwhile, three government agencies, including Civil Supplies, Police and Revenue officials, deployed special teams to handle the situation at petrol outlet transactions.
The Hyderabad Collectorate authorities provided two contact numbers: 7416687878 and 040-23202113, to register complaints related to petrol and diesel issues.
