Hyderabad: ‘Parampara: Pichwai’s Past, Present and Future’ will be held at the Craft Council of Telangana, Hyderabad, from September 27 to October 3, featuring over 40 works by five master artists working in the Pichwai tradition.

The exhibition is curated by MeMeraki, India’s first culture- tech platform, which works to enable generational master artists from the remotest corners of India to reach a global audience.

The show traces the arc of Pichwai painting across time, opening with a decades-old Pichwai, moving through pieces rooted firmly in classical convention, and closing with contemporary reinterpretations of the form.

The artworks on view span an equally wide range of technique and material: some are rendered in natural stone pigments in the centuries-old manner, several incorporate genuine gold and silver leaf, and others are painted in acrylic, reflecting how a living tradition continues to absorb new tools without losing its devotional core.

The exhibition brings together the work of five master artists: Dinesh Soni, Jayesh Sharma, Naveen Soni, Shehzaad Ali Sherani, and Trilok Soni, each representing a distinct lineage and approach within the Nathdwara school.
