Warangal: Prof Pesaru Sudhakar Reddy, Professor of Medicine, University of Pittsburgh Medical Center (UPMC) & Chairman SHARE/ MediCiti Institute of Medical Sciences, appreciated the management of the Kakatiya Institute of Technology of Science (KITS), Warangal, for setting up the Center of Excellence, Indo-American Artificial Heart Programme Laboratory worth Rs 45 lakh established in the department of Mechanical Engineering.

He highlighted vast progress, achievements and excellent contribution of KITS Warangal in the “Indo-American Artificial Heart Programme (IAAHP)”.


Prof Pesaru Sudhakar Reddy visited the KITS Warangal campus on Jan 3. “The faculty members involved in this project have demonstrated on the Mockup loop test setup installed for performing the hydrodynamic and Hemolysis test on the Centrifugal Heart pump designed and developed by the team IAAHP, KITSW.

As a part of this research programme, a 3D printing machine worth Rs 20 lakh was purchased to perform prototypes of centrifugal heart pumps. Also simulation models were generated by the Team in CATIA and Research version of ANSYS Software worth Rs eight lakhs,” said KITSW Principal Prof K Ashoka Reddy in a press note here on Wednesday.

KITSW Secretary and Correspondent Capt V Lakshmikantha Rao, Head, Department of Mechanical Engineering, Prof K Raja Narender Reddy, Chairman IQAC & IAAHP, Prof K Eswaraiah, HoD, EIE, Dr M Raghuram, Member IAAHP, Prof K Venumadhav, Member IAAHP & faculty In-charge R&D Cell, Dr G Ganesh Kumar, member IAAHP, Dr G Saikumar, Associate Professor of Chemistry and PRO Dr D Prabhakara Chary and other faculty members were present.
