Hyderabad: Rajya Sabha MP Joginapally Santosh Kumar’s immensely popular Green India Challenge has now found appreciation from Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who has sent a letter appreciating Santosh Kumar for initiating the challenge and also for his book ‘Vriksha Vedam’.
“It is indeed heartening to learn about Green India Challenge, an endeavour to plant saplings and increase the green cover across the country. Heartiest congratulations on undertaking this noble initiative to preserve a cleaner, greener environment,” Modi wrote.
The book, Vriksha Vedam, which was released by Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao in December last year, features a collection of shlokas from Indian literature on trees and forests apart from photographs showcasing the beauty of forests in the state. Modi’s letter also emphasised on the book saying, “This will educate people, particularly the youth about the holistic relationship between mankind and nature.”
Santosh Kumar took to Twitter to share the letter and thanked the PM.
