Hyderabad: Redeveloped railway stations under the Amrit Bharat Station Scheme (ABSS), including Hitec City Railway Station, are likely to be virtually inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on July 17.

Ahead of the event, residents have requested the Railway Ministry and South Central Railway to also include Malkajgiri Railway Station, where redevelopment works have been completed. The locals said they had been eagerly waiting for the upgraded facilities at Malkajgiri Railway Station to be opened.

The Train Travellers Association has also appealed to the Railway Administration to commission the station along with the other ABSS stations.

Noor Ahmed Ali, General Secretary of the association, said an early inauguration would enable the new booking office to shift to the redeveloped building and the ladies’ washrooms to be opened for public use without further delay.
