Hyderabad: One of the city’s busiest suburban railway stations, Hitec City, serving the heart of the city’s thriving IT corridor, is set to enter a new era of passenger travel with Prime Minister Narendra Modi virtually inaugurating it on July 17.
Built under the Amrit Bharat Station Scheme for Rs 26 crore, Hitec City becomes the fourth redeveloped station in the State after Begumpet, Warangal and Karimnagar, with 40 stations across Telangana currently being upgraded with an overall investment of Rs 2,000 crore.
Strategically located amid the IT and business district, Hitec City Railway Station caters to thousands of commuters every day, including IT professionals, students, office-goers, and business travellers.
The station features a 12-metre-wide FoB along with new lifts and escalators to ensure easy access for senior citizens, persons with disabilities, and passengers carrying luggage.
Other improvements include a redesigned station façade, a new entrance portico, modern passenger-friendly signage, enhanced circulating areas and upgraded passenger amenities aimed at providing a seamless travel experience.
Inspired by airport-like design concepts, the redeveloped station offers larger passenger spaces, contemporary infrastructure and enhanced aesthetics while maintaining operational efficiency.
