Kothagudem: Prime Minister Narendra Modi is unfit to speak of equality, Animal Husbandry Minister Talsani Srinivas Yadav said on Monday.
Taking a dig at the Prime Minister’s recent assertion in Hyderabad that Centre was committed to eliminate inequalities in the country, the Minister alleged that Modi was promoting inequality in the country but not equality and that makes him unfit to talk on the subject.
Srinivas Yadav was here on Monday to pay homage to KTPS 1104 trade union founder Sangam Jangaiah Goud, who passed away at Paloncha in the district on Sunday.
Speaking to the media, the Minister said the Centre meted out injustice to Telangana in the recent Central budget in terms of funds allocation. The budget has not even offered any benefits to the employees.
Union Minister G Kishan Reddy representing Telangana in the union Cabinet failed to ensure funds allocation to the State. If the State BJP leaders have the guts, they should stage a dharna in front of the house of the Prime Minister seeking funds to Telangana, Srinivas Yadav said.
He sought to know what was wrong with the Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao’s remarks on the constitution. What the Chief Minister suggested was to make changes to the constitution to do justice to suppressed sections like SCs but not to replace it, he said.
But the BJP and Congress leaders were reacting to the Chief Minister’s remarks with growls and snarls. He recalled that an 11-member commission was set up to amend the constitution by the former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee and the constitution was amended over 100 times.
It was the BJP that gave ministerial posts to people like Arun Shourie who had humiliated BR Ambedkar. The BJP and Congress leaders were falsely trying to show the Chief Minister’s demand for constitutional amendment in bad light and as an insult to Ambedkar, he said.
The real successor to Ambedkar has been the TRS party. That was why the TRS government introduced scheme like Dalit Bandhu and Sub-plan for the welfare of dalits, the minister noted.
ZP Chairman Koram Kanakaiah, Government Whip and TRS district president Rega Kantha Rao, District Library Chairman Dindigala Rajender and others were present.
