Karimnagar: The mastermind behind the PMJ jewellery shop theft, Subodh Singh was taken into custody by the police. He was taken for four days’ custody from the district prison on Wednesday.

Subodh Singh, who was brought to the district from Purnia jail of Bihar on PT warrant, was produced in the court on May 29 and filed a custody petition in the court.

Giving permission for four days custody from June 3 to 6, the court directed the police to produce him in the court on June 7. As the court granted permission, police took Subodh Singh into custody.

While taking him into custody, a huge police force was deployed at the district prison to avert any untoward incidents.

Besides Subodh Singh, three other accused Raghunath Karmakar, Ravish Kumar and Mehtab Khan were also taken into police custody.

Out of 13 involved in the PMJ robbery case, so far, four accused were arrested.

Though the police managed to arrest four accused, neither a single gram of the gold stolen from the shop nor a pistol used for the robbery were recovered.

Police are expected to get more details about the robbery in the investigation.
