PMJ jewellery shop theft mastermind Subodh Singh taken into custody in Karimnagar
Police in Karimnagar have taken PMJ jewellery shop theft mastermind Subodh Singh into four-day custody for interrogation. Three other accused were also detained. However, neither the stolen gold nor the weapon used in the robbery has been recovered so far.

Karimnagar: The mastermind behind the PMJ jewellery theft, Subodh Singh, was taken into police custody. He was taken on four days’ custody from the district prison on Wednesday.
Subodh Singh, who was brought to the district from Purnia Jail in Bihar on a PT warrant, was produced before the court on May 29, following which the police filed a custody petition.
Granting permission for four days’ custody from June 3 to 6, the court directed the police to produce him before the court on June 7. Following the court’s permission, the police took Subodh Singh into custody.
While taking him into custody, a large police force was deployed at the district prison to avert any untoward incidents.
Besides Subodh Singh, three other accused, Raghunath Karmakar, Ravish Kumar and Mehtab Khan, were also taken into police custody.
Of the 13 persons involved in the PMJ robbery case, four accused have been arrested so far.
Though the police managed to arrest four accused, neither a single gram of the gold stolen from the shop nor the pistol allegedly used in the robbery has been recovered.
Police are expected to gather more details about the robbery during the course of the investigation.
