PMS Bowenpally: UN’s role in uniting the world discussed
The students explained the organs of UN, informed the children about the need for the formation of the United Nations Organization in the backdrop of the two world wars.
A virtual Special Assembly on United Nations Day was conducted at Pallavi Model School , Bowenpally . A special assembly was conducted to observe United Nations Day which was established on October 24, 1945.
UN Day is observed diligently every year in India. The assembly commenced with prayer, followed by thought by a student of class-VIII, “There is no way for peace, peace is the way”. Students of class VIII, explained in detail the important agencies of UN namely, UNICEF, UNESCO and WHO and the achievements of UNO since its establishment.
The students explained the organs of UN, informed the children about the need for the formation of the United Nations Organization in the backdrop of the two world wars. Also, students were told about the various functions performed by UNO and India’s role in UNO and important policy like Non-Alignment. The assembly ended with the news report and weather forecast.
