POCSO accused Sai Bageerath was remanded to 14-day judicial custody and shifted to Central Prison Cherlapally after being produced before a magistrate on Saturday. His counsel said a bail petition would be filed soon and expressed confidence in the judicial process

Hyderabad: Bandi Sai Bageerath, who surrendered before Petbasheerabad police station, on Saturday was remanded to 14-day judicial custody and shifted to Central Prison, Cherlapally.
As per Cyberabad police, Sai Bageerath was arrested at the Telangana State Police Academy junction. He was shifted in a convoy of vehicles to the Petbasheerabad police station.
Kukatpally DCP Ritiraj, the supervisory officer in the case, also reached the police station. After recording Sai Bageerath’s statement and completing necessary legal formalities, the police shifted him to a primary health centre at Medchal for medical checkup. After the medical examination, Bageerath was produced before a magistrate, who sent him on judicial remand till May 29.
Advocate Karuna Sagar, legal counsel for Sai Bageerath, said that on instructions of Union Minister Bandi Sanjay Kumar, he along with Sai Bageerath went to APPA junction and handed him over to Special Operations Teams of Cyberabad police.
He was later shifted by the police to Petbasheerabad police station. “He was produced before the court and remanded to judicial custody till May 29. We will file a bail application on the next working day before the court. We have faith in the judicial system. Our man will come out clean from the case. We will plan our future course of action,” said Karuna Sagar.
