POCSO case accused attempts suicide in Telangana’s Medak, records selfie video

Medak: Fearing conviction in a POCSO case, a man attempted suicide by consuming poison while recording a selfie video at Sabhashpally village in Shivvampet mandal in the early hours of Monday.
The accused, identified as Panagari Sudhakar Reddy, is a resident of the same village. A case under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act was registered against him around two years ago. With the court proceedings reaching the final stages, he reportedly grew anxious about a possible conviction.
In the selfie video, Reddy claimed he had not committed the crime. After seeing the video, his friends traced his location and rushed him to the government hospital in Narsapur for treatment. His condition is reported to be critical.
