Poet Ande Sri laid to rest with full State honours in Telangana’s Ghatkesar

Hyderabad: Renowned poet, lyricist, and writer Ande Sri, who passed away on Monday, was laid to rest with full State honours at Ghatkesar on Tuesday.
His wife Mallubai, daughters Vakkulamma, Vennela and Vekuva, and son Dattu performed the last rites in a traditional manner. People from across political parties and different walks of life gathered in large numbers to bid farewell to the celebrated poet.
The funeral procession started from Lalapet Jayashankar Stadium and passed through Tarnaka and Uppal before reaching NAFC Nagar in Ghatkesar, where the cremation was held.
Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy paid floral tributes to the mortal remains of Ande Sri and consoled the bereaved family members. The Chief Minister also observed the final rites. TPCC president and MLC Mahesh Kumar Goud, Cabinet Ministers, senior Congress leaders, public representatives and several dignitaries were among those who attended the funeral.
