Hyderabad: Trainers, get ready—Pokemon Champions is now available for download on Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2, bringing intense Pokémon battles straight to your consoles. Players eager to hit the ground running can also pick up the Pokémon Champions + Starter Pack, which includes in-game perks such as additional Pokémon storage, a bonus battle song, and more. Nintendo Switch 2 users can enjoy a free update for enhanced graphics, making battles even more immersive.
In Pokémon Champions, battles follow familiar mechanics with Pokémon types, Abilities, and moves, allowing players to strategize like in previous titles. The game will also feature a mobile version, enabling cross-platform battles between Nintendo Switch and mobile devices.
The game integrates with Pokémon HOME, so Trainers can bring certain Pokémon from past games and Pokémon GO into Pokémon Champions. Featured Pokémon include Mega Meganium, Mega Emboar, and Mega Feraligatr, each with newly discovered Abilities exclusive to Pokémon Champions:
Mega Meganium: Ability Mega Sol allows moves to act as if harsh sunlight is active.
Mega Emboar: Ability Mold Breaker bypasses opponents’ Abilities.
Mega Feraligatr: Ability Dragonize turns Normal-type moves into Dragon-type moves with a 20% power boost.
Special Bonuses
Mega Stones: Players who transfer Chesnaught, Delphox, Greninja, and Floette from Pokémon Legends: Z-A via Pokémon HOME will receive their corresponding Mega Stones in Pokémon Champions.
Early-Download Dragonite: Players who start Pokémon Champions by August 31, 2026, can claim Dragonite and 100 Quick Coupons. Dragonite can Mega Evolve using the Dragoninite stone, obtainable in-game through the Battle Pass or later in shops.
Competitions and Tournaments
Trainers can immediately participate in the Warm-up Challenge in-game tournament to battle others worldwide and earn rewards. Entry is open until April 12, 6:59 p.m. PDT, with rewards including Gardevoir and 100 Quick Coupons for completing at least three matches.
The game will also feature competitive events like the 2026 Indianapolis Regional Championships (May 29–31) and serve as a sneak peek for the 2026 North America International Championships (June 12–14). Pokémon Champions promises both Ranked Battles for competitive players and Casual Battles for fun, ensuring a wide array of battle experiences.
Whether you’re a seasoned Trainer or just starting your Pokémon journey, Pokémon Champions delivers an engaging mix of strategy, new mechanics, and cross-platform excitement.
