Police arrest suspect in couple suicide case on ORR in Hyderabad
Chintu, a resident of Maktha of Korremula had been allegedly blackmailing and threatening the young couple and extorting money from them. Unable to take further harassment from him, they died by suicide by dousing fuel and setting themselves on fire in a car at the Ghanpur service road
Hyderabad: The Ghatkesar police have arrested Chintu Yadav alias Chintu, the suspect in the couple suicide case on the ORR on Tuesday.
Chintu, a resident of Maktha of Korremula had been allegedly blackmailing and threatening the young couple and extorting money from them. Unable to take further harassment from him, they died by suicide by dousing fuel and setting themselves on fire in a car at the Ghanpur service road on the Outer Ring Road on Monday.
He was being questioned by the police in the police station. They are verifying if anybody else is involved.
The victim, P Sriram from Nalgonda and the girl were in a relationship for the last five years secretly from their families. Chintu, who is a relative of the girl, got to know about their relationship, took advantage of the situation and allegedly threatened to expose them. He allegedly extorted about Rs 1.3 lakh from Sriram.
Initially, the police suspected it to be a case of accident, but after Sriram’s relatives found the suicide note, purportedly written by him, in the house, a case of abetment to suicide was booked and investigated.
