Police confiscate assets of four ganja smugglers in Kothagudem
Kothagudem police confiscated assets worth Rs 23.52 lakh of four accused in a ganja smuggling case under Edulla Bayyaram police station. The properties, including vehicles and houses, were seized following a court order during a financial investigation

Kothagudem: The district police have confiscated assets of four accused persons caught on charges of ganja smuggling under Edulla Bayyaram police station.
The confiscation was carried out in connection with Cr.No.78/2024, under Sections 8(c) read with 20(b)(ii)(C), 27A, and 29 of NDPS Act-1985 registered at the police station. As part of the financial investigation, a freezing order was obtained through the Competitive Authority, Chennai, under SAFEMA (FOP) Act and NDPS Act.
The assets of the four accused and their relatives were confiscated by a court order, Edulla Bayyaram CI Venkateswara Rao said. The assets, worth Rs 23.52 lakh, include a tractor, a car, an auto-rickshaw, four motorcycles, and three houses.
The accused in the case are Jatoth Vijay, Jatoth Bhaskar, Jatoth Suresh, and Nunawath Ganesh of Thorrur mandal in Mahabubabad district. SP B Rohith Raju appreciated CI Venkateswara Rao and his staff for catching the ganja smugglers and confiscating their properties.
