Mancherial: As part of community policing, Devapur police distributed 200 blankets to tribals in Maoist affected Kurreguda, Kolamguda, Laxmipur and Venkatapur villages in Kasipet mandal on Tuesday.

Bellampalli Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) Adla Mahesh was the chief guest of the event held in the wake of the ongoing 21st anniversary of the prohibited Maoist party’s People’s Liberation Guerilla Army (PLGA).

Speaking on the occasion, Mahesh advised the tribals not to cooperate with the banned Maoists and ruin their future. He suggested that the youngsters focus on studies and bring recognition to their parents. He assured the police department would extend all support to the sportsmen and talented students of the villages.

The ACP requested the tribals to share information relating to the movement of strange persons with the local police. He said that police would always be in the forefront in serving the community. He praised Devapur Sub-Inspector A Vijayender for coming to the rescue of the hapless aboriginal tribes by giving blankets considering chilly weather conditions.

Mandamarri Inspector Pramod Rao and Devapur Sub-Inspector Vijayender were present.
