Police foil BJP protest in Hyderabad after attack on cow protector

Hyderabad: Several workers of the Bharatiya Janata Party were taken into preventive custody by the police when they tried to march towards the Telangana DGP’s office to hold a protest to condemn the attack on a gau rakshak.
Prashanth Kumar alias Sonu Singh was injured when a cattle trader, Ibrahim, allegedly shot at him with a country-made pistol at Pocharam IT corridor area near Ghatkesar on Wednesday.
Following the incident, the BJP and other Hindu organisations had given a protest call. The police had beefed up security around Lakdikapul and Public Gardens in view of the protest call.
Several BJP leaders, including Malkajgiri MP, Etala Rajendra and others, were taken into preventive custody by the police.
