Police teams searching for fugitive Raghava: SP
It might be noted that confusion prevailed over the arrest of the MLA's son as the television news channels have broadcast news claiming that he was arrested by police in Hyderabad on Thursday.
Khammam: Putting the rumours about the arrest of the local MLA’s son, Vanama Raghavendra Rao, to rest, the district police made it clear that the man in question was not yet arrested.
It might be noted that confusion prevailed over the arrest of the MLA’s son as the television news channels have broadcast news claiming that he was arrested by police in Hyderabad on Thursday, though the police have not made any official announcement about the same.
Raghavendra Rao alias Raghava charged with abetment to suicide was on the run since his name was mentioned in a suicide note left by a man, M Naga Ramakrihna, who committed familicide on Monday.
Superintendent of Police (SP) Sunil Dutt in a statement here on Friday said the police teams have extensively been searching for Raghava and the fugitive would soon be nabbed. Efforts were on to trace him out and to arrest. Support from police in the neighbouring districts was also being taken for the purpose.
In another development, Manugur police served a notice to Raghava asking him to appear for investigation in connection with another case of abetment of suicide booked against him at Paloncha police station.
Since he was absconding the notice was pasted on the wall of his residence. The MLA’s son was asked to appear before the investigating officer in the case, Manugur ASP, Dr. Shabarish P by 12.30 pm on Friday.
It might recalled that a business man M Venkateshwar Rao of Jayamma Colony at Paloncha committed suicide on July 29 last year. In a suicide note he held some of his relatives and Raghava as responsible for his suicide.
According to the police the MLA’s son was on bail in the above case. If he failed to appear before Manugur police by the stipulated time his bail would be cancelled and a look out notice could be issued against him.
