Hyderabad: The Telangana State Police on Tuesday introduced an automated online Police Verification Certificate (PVC) and Police Clearance Certificate (PCC) called ‘i-Verify’ facility. Director-General of Police M Mahendar Reddy launched the facility.

The Central and State government offices, Public Sector Undertakings and defence establishments, which appoint private employees or private employees appointed by these agencies with their referral letters can get PVC.

Candidates going abroad for studying, employment, business and immigration can get PCC. The agencies or individuals wishing to apply for these certificates can logon to the Telangana State Police website https://www.tspolice.gov.in and click police verification and clearance link to follow instructions given in the user manual for submitting documents.

Once the application is submitted and payment is processed, the status of verification process and issue of certificate can be checked online by the agencies or individuals. Any clarifications can be sought by calling up the district-wise helpline numbers provided on the portal.

According to officials, the tool allows organizations and individuals to apply online for PVCs and PCCs. Candidates can pay required fees through online mode replacing the previous bank treasury challan payment method which required candidates to go to a particular branch of designated banks.

The application, documentation submission and payment process are made easy and user friendly. The tool automates the process of transmission of applications online between Special Branch and Intelligence (both verifying agencies), avoiding manual process, and physical movement of person, applications or files.

The online process would improve coordination between Intelligence and SB wings.

The tool automates crime and criminal records search across all the districts in the State through photo and data match for a fool-proof character antecedent verification eliminating human errors etc. Two tier, wide and deep criminal record verification has been initiated.

Faster processing reduces time and manpower in the overall verification process.

The proposed system is developed by refining the existing system with faster digital processing for more accurate and timely results, enabling improved citizen centric service. The real-time monitoring of files enables higher transparency and monitoring.

The tool also provides online status updates of the applications for the convenience of applicants.
