Police win laurels for rescuing sanitation worker stranded in flooding stream in Adilabad

Police and Fire Department personnel rescued a sanitation worker who was stranded on a tree in a flooded stream at Gunjala village in Adilabad. Superintendent of Police Akhil Mahajan commended the rescue team for their courage and prompt response

Adilabad: Police won laurels for rescuing a sanitation worker who was struck in a stream in spate at Gunjala village on Saturday evening.

Police said that the worker, Rodda Raju was swept away after the flow of the stream rose up suddenly due to rains in upstream areas, while attending the nature call. He could grab a tree and stay in the middle of the stream waiting to be rescued for 2 hours. His family members who were anxious about his whereabouts launched a search and traced him in the stream.

On receiving information, police along with Fire department staffers rushed to the spot and began a rescue operation. They managed to rescue Raju by struggling for an hour and by showing valor. They safely brought him to the banks of the stream using a long rope, offering relief to him and his family members.

Meanwhile, SP Akhil Mahajan commended the staffers of the police department for saving the life of the sanitation worker by showing gallantry. He patted Bheempur SI Peersingh and his team for giving paramount importance to security of the public while discharging duties with utmost alert.
