Political parties to hold protest on Oct 16 demanding compensation for flood-affected families in Khammam
Leaders of different political parties asked the government to credit Rs 16,500 compensation into the bank accounts of the families that have not yet received it.

Leaders of different political parties asked the government to credit Rs 16,500 compensation into the bank accounts of the families that have not yet received it. They also wanted the government to pay Rs 3 lakh to each family that suffered severe loss due to floods.
The meeting was organised under the aegis of the CPM district committee on Thursday. CPM district secretary N Nageswara Rao, CPI (ML) Mass Line district secretary Goginapalli Venkateswara Rao, BRS senior leader RJC Krishna, CPI leader N Sasidhar and others spoke at the meeting.
Residents in Padmavati Nagar, Venkateshwara Nagar, Bokkalagadda, Manchiganti Nagar, Moti Nagar, Peddammagudi area, Sundarayya Nagar, Prakash Nagar, Srinivas Nagar, Agraharam, Naidupet, Jalagam Nagar, Ramannapet, Danavaigudem, Kavi Raju Nagar and others suffered heavy loss as the areas were inundated by Munneru floods.
Valuable items such as TVs, fridges, coolers, gas stoves, gas cylinders, documents, gold, and money have been washed away by the floods. Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy and the Central team visited the flood affected areas but proper compensation was yet to be paid to the families.
Many of the affected residents were yet to receive compensation; the leaders said adding that it was decided to stage a dharna by all parties at Khammam tahsildar office on October 16 in support of their demand.
