Poll arrangements completed for final phase of gram panchayat elections in Adilabad
Authorities have completed arrangements for the third and final phase of gram panchayat elections in the erstwhile Adilabad district. Polling will be held across four districts, covering 446 gram panchayats and involving over five lakh voters

Adilabad: Elaborate arrangements have been made for the smooth conduct of polls in 446 gram panchayats in the third and final phase of local body elections in the erstwhile Adilabad district on Wednesday.
Officials said that 120 villages and 1,220 wards from six mandals would see polls for electing sarpanch in this phase in Adilabad district, while 98 villages and 868 wards from five mandals in Mancherial, 124 villages and 791 wards from five mandals in Nirmal and 104 villages and 744 wards belonging to four mandals in Kumram Bheem Asifabad district would go to the polls.
According to officials, polling material such as ballot papers and boxes were dispatched to the villages. Polling staff would arrive in the villages by evening. Police personnel were deployed at polling stations. Campaigning by candidates ended on Monday. As many as 5.18 lakh voters would exercise their franchise in the four districts, deciding the fate of over 1,500 candidates.
