Hyderabad: Senior BRS leader and former minister Ponnala Lakshmaiah has taken a sharp dig at the Congress party, particularly targeting Rahul Gandhi’s advocacy for a caste census. In a scathing remark, Lakshmaiah highlighted the disparity between Congress’s rhetoric on the caste census and its internal representation, pointing out that the Congress Working Committee (CWC) has only 3 OBC members out of a total of 39.
Taking to social media, Ponnala Lakshmaiah sarcastically noted, “With only 3 OBCs out of 39 in the CWC, the Congress’s Caste Census rhetoric is more preaching and less practice.” He further emphasized that before promoting loud, advocacy-driven programs like the caste census, the Congress party should focus on setting its own house in order, starting with better representation of marginalized groups within its leadership.
