Ponnam finds fault with film fraternity for objections after Minister’s apologies
Ponnam Prabhakar said it is unnecessary for film industry members to react on the issue.
Hyderabad: Transport Minister Ponnam Prabhakar found fault with film fraternity for raising objections over Forest Minister Konda Surekha’s comments on actress Samantha’s divorce despite the Minister tendering apologies.
“The Minister has withdrawn her comments and apologized. It is unnecessary for film industry members to react on the issue,” he said during an informal chat with media persons at Gandhi Bhavan here on Saturday.
As the Minister withdrew her comments, the issue was resolved. Stressing that she was a BC community Minister, Prabhakar said all support would be extended to her and that she was not alone. The Minister also came down heavily on the BJP-led union government for its discrimination towards in Telangana in extending flood relief assistance. The flood loss was estimated at over Rs.10,000 crore but the union government granted only Rs.400 crore, he said.
“There are two Ministers from the State in the union cabinet and yet Telangana got raw deal,” Prabhakar said and appealed to all parties to put up a joint effort in seeking assistance from the Centre.
