Hyderabad: In support of Green India Challenge, the novel afforestation drive initiated by TRS Rajya Sabha MP, Joginpally Santosh Kumar in Telangana, noted actress Pooja Hegde planted saplings on Friday at Ramoji Film City.
The actress, who accepted the Green India Challenge given to her by Tollywood actor Sushanth recently, appreciated the concept of the initiative. “Green India Challenge calls upon people to plant saplings and save the environment. It not only promoted plantation of saplings but also protected them,” she said, after planting the saplings.
The actress said that she was happy to participate in Green India Challenge. “I congratulate Rajya Sabha member, J Santosh Kumar for taking up the novel cause. I also request everyone to participate in the Green Indian Challenge and plant trees,” she said.
After plantation, she asked Bollywood actors Akshay Kumar and Ritesh Deshmukh to accept her challenge and continue the plantation chain. The co-founder of GIC, Raghava and others were present.
