Postal department launches special cover and stamp on Medak fort
The postal department launched a postal cover and stamp on the historical Medak fort, in a rare honour. The initiative is expected to support efforts to develop the 12th-century fort into a sought-after tourist destination.

Medak: In a rare honour, the postal department launched a postal cover and a postal stamp on the historical Medak fort on Monday.
Since Medak Collector Prathima Singh was making efforts to develop the fort into a sought-after tourist destination, the postal department’s initiatives will boost her efforts. Minister G Vivekananda, Medak MP Raghunandan Rao, Collector Prathima Singh, MLC C Anji Reddy, MLA M Rohith and others launched the postal cover and the stamp in the presence of postal department officials at Medak fort on Monday.
Minister Vivekananda said that they would certainly support the district administration’s effort to develop the fort, which was built in the 12th century during the rule of Kakatiya king Prathaparudra. MP Raghunandan said that he would also try to get funds under the Centre’s ‘Swadeshi Darshan’ programme to develop Medak fort and other tourist places in the district. Additional SP Vikrakanth Kumar Singh and others were present.
