PR engineer held for graft in Adilabad
In-charge ACB DSP Madusudhan said the accused, Chandrasekhar, was caught red-handed while receiving the money from the complainant.
Adilabad: A Panchayat Raj assistant engineer was arrested by of Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) officials while he was allegedly accepting a bribe of Rs 2 lakh from a contractor in Adilabad on Thursday.
In-charge ACB DSP Madusudhan said the accused, Chandrasekhar, was caught red-handed while receiving the money from the complainant, Sunil, in a car for recording four gravel roads in measurements book at an estimated cost of Rs 95 lakh. He was allegedly harassing the contractor for bribe to discharging his official duties. The contractor approached the ACB sleuths who in turn laid a trap and caught the engineer.
A case was registered and Chandrasekhar will be produced before a special court for ACB cases in Karimnagar on Thursday evening.
