Prajwala hosts anti-human trafficking conference in Hyderabad
Prajwala organised a State-Level Anti-Human Trafficking Conference in Hyderabad to mark the World Day Against Trafficking in Persons. The event brought together 500 delegates, highlighted emerging trafficking challenges, and celebrated the organisation's 30 years of survivor-centred rehabilitation and advocacy
Hyderabad: Marking the World Day Against Trafficking in Persons, Prajwala organised a one-day State-Level Anti-Human Trafficking Conference here on Saturday.
Organised in collaboration with various government departments and other stakeholders, the conference brought together 500 delegates from across Telangana, including members of the judiciary, senior government officials, prosecutors, police officers, Anti-Human Trafficking Unit personnel, District Legal Services Authority representatives, Women & Child Welfare officials, SERP officers and civil society organisations.
The event also marked 30 years of Prajwala’s journey in combating human trafficking and advancing survivor-centred rehabilitation and justice.
The conference was inaugurated by Justice N Kotiswar Singh, Judge, Supreme Court of India, in the presence of Justice Moushumi Bhattacharya, Judge, Telangana High Court, along with senior officials of the state government.
Apart from technical sessions, the event featured the screening of Trapped Behind the Scam, highlighting the emerging challenge of trafficking for forced criminality in online scam operations, followed by testimonies from lived-experience experts whose personal journeys reflected resilience, recovery and hope.
The cultural presentation Mrigthrusna portrayed the realities of trafficking while celebrating the strength and determination of survivors.
