Hyderabad: What till recently was an unkempt vacant land in Gajularamaram has now turned into a beautiful theme park- Pranavayu Urban Forest Park.
The park development which is spread over a huge land parcel of 142 acres is now dotted with lush greenery and is clubbed with a series of amenities and theme-based art work, making it one-of-its-kind in the city. The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) developed the park with Rs 16 crore and the works are in the final stages.
An official with the GHMC said the works were almost completed but for attending to the last minute details. “The park will be ready for inauguration within three weeks,” the official said.
The lung space developed by the civic body offers recreational facilities to people of all age groups. From its entrance till the end, the sprawling facility is a visual treat for the visitors. The entrance arch and compound wall with replicas of animals and decoratives like gazebos, water pond, water cascade and animal replicas at multiple places, makes the theme park alluring and different from the existing ones. The paintings of animals on the compound wall add a touch of aesthetics to the sprawling facility.
As the visitor enters the theme-based park, the pathway with lush greenery on either side starts to roll out. And alongside are replicas of swans, eagles, lions, tigers and deer set up at different locations. Besides offering the visitors a glimpse of the forest, the park also has a series of facilities. While an exclusive area is earmarked for Vana Bhojanam (forest meal), a nursery, a watchtower, restrooms, surveillance and seating arrangements, makes it for an interesting visit.
The gazebos with wooden entrances and paintings on the stones that are on either side to it further deck up the place. Meanwhile, the kids play area inside the park has slides, wooden bridges with slides, worm-shaped tunnels, seating arrangements and a swing, while the play area is fenced with alphabets.
