Hyderabad: Former Minister and BRS MLA Vemula Prashanth Reddy criticised Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy and the Congress government for deceiving BCs through false promises and political stunts in the name of BC reservations. He said the Kamareddy BC Declaration was used merely to woo BC voters during the Assembly elections, only to be followed by empty talk and daily dramas.

“The Congress government passed an Assembly resolution, then introduced BC Reservation Bills, followed by an ordinance, and finally, a dharna in Delhi. If the Congress was committed to the cause, why did Rahul, Priyanka, Sonia Gandhi or Mallikarjun Kharge, who were available locally, not attend the protest?” he questioned.

Prashanth Reddy said the Congress was misleading BCs with the promise of 42 per cent reservation, while failing to implement promises that are under the State government’s purview. “Revanth Reddy says BC reservations will happen when Rahul Gandhi becomes the Prime Minister. Will you stall local body polls until then?” he asked, urging BCs to teach the Congress a lesson in the upcoming elections.
