Nizamabad: Lashing at the State BJP and Congress leaders, Roads and Buildings Minister V Prashanth Reddy wanted them to share the details of welfare programmes being implemented in the Congress and BJP ruled States and compare them with those being implemented by TRS government in Telangana.
“Do the BJP ruled States implement at least 10 per cent of the welfare prorgammes being implemented by Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao in Telangana,” he questioned BJP State president Bandi Sanjay Kumar.
The Minister laid the foundation for a 33/11 KV transformer to be set up with a cost of Rs 1.25 crore at Nalluru village in Balkonda constituency on Tuesday. The Minister wondered as to why the BJP State president was conducting Padayatra. He found fault with Bandi Sanjay for uttering lies regarding the Central government’s contribution in the extension of pensions and 2.5 lakh houses.
Annually, the State government was spending about Rs 8,000 crore towards the extension of pensions to 40 lakh persons, of these, the Central government’s contribution was only Rs 200 crore, the Minister said and wanted the State BJP president to disclose the locations of 2.5 lakh houses sanctioned by Modi government.
The State government was constructing double bedroom houses in rural areas with a cost of over Rs 5 lakh and the Central government was offering Rs 72,000, he said adding “Can a house be built with Rs 72,000. The Chief Minister is building spacious houses for the poor,”
“Let’s debate on the contributions of Central government in public. I will prove that BJP State president was uttering lies and if I fail, I will resign as Minister. Similarly, you (Bandi Sanjay) should resign as MP and BJP State president, if you fail to prove your claims,” Prashanth Reddy challenged the BJP leader.
The Roads and Buildings Minister wanted TPCC president A Revanth Reddy to mend his ways. He said there cannot be a comparison between a person, who was jailed in Chanchalguda prison, with TRS Working president KT Rama Rao.
