Top seed P. Praveen Prasad of Hyderabad won the Open chess tournament at A2H Chess Academy with 7 points from 8 rounds, edging out Vishwanath Kannam on tie-break score

Hyderabad: FIDE-rated and top-seeded P Praveen Prasad of Hyderabad won the Open prize money chess tournament with seven points from eight rounds at A2H Chess Academy here.

With a better tie-break score, Vishwanath Kannam secured second place.


Final placings: 1. P Praveen Prasad, 2. K Vishwanath, 3. Y Murali Mohan, 4. S V C Chakravarthi, 5. K Perumallu, 6. D Srivardhan Reddy, 7. Krishna Kumar, 7. Jareen Ahmed Khan, 8. Sarath Kumar Nanda, 9. P Satyanarayana.
