Prepare comprehensive urban plan for next 25 years: Revanth Reddy to officials
Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy has directed officials to draft a long-term urban policy focused on Hyderabad's core area within the Outer Ring Road.
Hyderabad: Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy on Wednesday directed officials to formulate a long-term, comprehensive urban policy focused on the core urban region of Hyderabad, within the Outer Ring Road (ORR). He also sought a clear urban policy that covered the core urban region, semi-urban regions, and rural areas for future development.
Reviewing the progress of development works under the Municipal Administration and Urban Development department, Revanth Reddy instructed officials to prepare plans for drinking water supply, drainage, metro connectivity, elevated corridors and road infrastructure, keeping the next 25 years in view. He stressed the need to align infrastructure development with the city’s rapid population growth.
Officials informed the Chief Minister about various ongoing works related to water supply and sewage treatment within GHMC limits. He asked them to expedite pending projects and ensure robust sanitation planning, especially with the commencement of the monsoon. He urged the officials to take preventive measures against seasonal diseases, mosquito breeding and drainage overflows.
