Hyderabad: With many people expressing concerns over the possible violation of their privacy in the ongoing caste survey in the State, CPI MLA Kunamneni Sambasiva Rao wanted the State government to withdraw unwanted questions from the survey.
In a statement issued on Sunday, the CPI State Secretary wanted the State government to clarify the concerns of people. Though the caste census was welcomed, it would be wise to limit the questions to relevant aspects, he said.
Of late, cyber crimes had increased and cyber criminals were swindling crores of rupees. In this background, if mobile numbers, bank accounts, Aadhaar details collected during the caste census, were accessed by criminals, it would pose a threat, the CPI MLA stressed.
“It has come to our attention that unnecessary details are being collected in this survey. At few places, the households are also being asked about the party affiliations,” Kunamneni Sambasiva Rao said, reminding that the courts had also instructed to ensure privacy and there was no need to disclose them.
